Have you ever worn an outfit that was great in
theory but didn’t execute well on camera? That’s the case with this look. I
received numerous compliments on the look but when I downloaded the pictures
all I saw was how weird I looked so go easy on me with the comments!! The good thing is the weather was perfect and the man child captured beautiful shots. I love my kid (makes heart with fingers like my students) :).
I really wish I could capture how great Karrie (my
hair) looked. I’m elated to say I made it to a year of growing up my brush cut
but I’m still trying to figure out how to style my hair myself. I’m surrounded
by talented folks who can braid, flat twist and a host of others things. Funny
thing is when I talk about someone pampering this head of hair, they all smile
and say how much my hair has grown out but emphasize how thick it is. Really it’s
their way of saying no, lololll!
I’m accustomed to it though. All the numerous times
I’ve been Team Natural, I’ve always had to plead and beg to get someone to two strand
twist my hair or braid it. My mom gets the same treatment so usually we just
wear our hair short. But I’m committed to allowing Karrie to grow and do her
thing.
As of late my go to products are all by Shea
Moisture. I also want to give shea butter in raw form another chance. When I
used it before, it made my hair hard. As she grows, I’ll experiment more. For
now, I’ll rock my signature fro cause life ain’t always peaches and cream
(refer back to my thoughts on this outfit).
