Repurposed Stripes

One thing I’ve learned from blogging and reading other blogs is that I don’t have to wear something the way it was designed to be worn. I saw this photo of everyone’s favorite girl Kim Kardashian and had to have a maxi dress in stripes. I had not intentions of paying a great deal for the dress and decided I check out DOTS. Well I almost hit the jackpot. I was elated about the price, not crazy about the fabric and hated that it was a halter dress. I wore it casually here. My sister and fashion advisor Reiko over at God’s Favorite Shoes always repurposes so I took a risk and turned this dress into a skirt.

I added the pop of color, blazer and accessories to dress it up for work.

How’d I do? Haver you rocked the stripes trend?

You look cute! I love how you put a tank over it and wore the blazer too. nice!

I recently just purchased a striped skirt pencil skirt. I plan to wear it as a dress, a high waisted skirt and also its original use too. lol.

You are doing the damn thing! I love it! Girl...next just pull the skirt all the way up as a dress and throw a jean vest over it or something!

I envy those long legs of yours!!!!

I really wanted a striped top and finally got one. However, I do not have any long maxis. You inspire me to find one. You look great and show that it can be styled up.

Hello! I found your blog after finding Reiko's blog! You do look great in this outfit! I wore something similar during the last few weeks of school (I'm a teacher also), but I wish I had thought about adding that pop of pink! Thanks for the inspiration!
