There's a Knock at Your Door. How Will You Answer?

Yesterday I started my morning listening to Ledisi's Turn Me Loose album & got a revelation. My cousin teases me all the time because most of my ahhh haaa moments aren't super spiritual. Yes, I'm a believer, Christian and Jesus Feak who listens to secular music. Hope that didn't give any of the Saints a heart attack! Anywhooo that's for another post.  Have you heard church folks say when the devil knocks send faith to answer? I've always heard this church phrase with the same answer.

I have a  new solution to this reoccurring problem. If you are asking yourself why I emphasized reoccurring, let me go ahead and forever break it down for you. The Bible speaks of the enemy who is constantly poking me (like on Facebook and it's super annoying..ugggh get a Twitter life, ha ha haaa!) trying to kill me, steal from me if I'm not dead or destroy me that includes hopes and dreams and then...bang I'm dead.

1 Peter 5:8 (Amplified Bible)

8Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [[a]in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

There is a guarantee that we will face opposition. Just a side note: the devl/enemy isn't dressed in a red suit, with a pitch fork and horns. He or she is in the cubicle next to you Monday through Friday or even that needed familly member who gets upsets that you won't help with their rent although they work 6 days a week and are always rocking designer handbags or the car that broke down on the freeway. Yes, we need faith to overcome, to stand and not give up. Faith keeps us fueled when we are on our last drop of believing things will get better. This economy, tsk, tsk, tsk!

What I'm trying to tell you is there is a different way you, me, we can respond.  Why not refuse to allow him (the devil) in? I don't have to respond in a negative manner to the circumstances. I don't even need to respond. I'm so favored that GOD can take care of the messy parts of my life while I live under HIS protection. Let's finish this week committed to allowing the drama to stay outside the door. I don't want it in my life. I'm taking back the power I have been given by not entertaining negativity. Me and how I respond to the knock at the door. I'm resting in the assurance that every time I pray a blessing will come my way.

P.S. Don't sleep on a dynamic voice. I own both of Ledisi's cds and they are constantly on rotation.

I hear you knockin' devil but you can't come in!

Well, I must say, I have never heard the saying, “when the devil knocks send faith to answer.” Anyway, you’re correct by not allowing negativity to enter your space or your ear.

All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.
